Published 4 August 2017At the end of the pleasant and easy hike up through the woods you find Pravcika Brana , a stunning natural stone arch.
We arrived in Mezní Louka late in the day but we wanted to squeeze in a hike up to Pravcika Brana. I had read that it closed at 6pm so we were in a mad rush to get there before it shut.
The parking situation is really confusing. There are signs everywhere warning if you park in the wrong place you will be clamped and we saw several vehicles that had been so we were keen not to meet the same fate. We finally found the proper "carpark" which was a strip of roadside near the bottom of the hill. At the bottom end there was a hut where you are supposed to buy your ticket but there was no one in it. I had a wander around and eventually found the parking attendant walking up and down the strip and she sold me the tickets right there
We set off up the road for a short way until we got to a left turn which took us onto the track proper and up into the woods towards the stone bridge
We walked as fast as we could and got there about 20 minutes before closing. As we were arriving so late in the day they didn’t even charge us the usual €3 entrance fee.
There’s not heaps to do once you get to the top but there are some stunning views and great opportunities to get some great Instagram shots. Plus a restaurant and snack kiosk.
We stayed at Camp Mezní Louka which is a short drive from the beginning of the hike. You could consider walking this if you had more time.
The campsite was basic but nice and the on site restaurant had the best food we had during our time in the Czech Republic.
